Martin Luther King Jr. Park is a park and recreational park in Springfield Tennessee located at 2623 S Main St, Springfield, TN 37172. They are rated online as a 4.6-star park. The playground is thanks to a more comprehensive project which is partially funded by a Neighborhood Parks and Recreation Fund award of $500,000 that was granted to the Springfield Parks & Recreation Department. The full park involves a walking trail and two big multi-purpose fields with bleachers at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Having the addition of a playground as well as the splash pad, Martin Luther King Jr. Park is used just as much in the summertime as it is in the fall.
In January of 2021, they announced they are ready to start all new construction, complete with a 3D rendering of the project. The various areas of play equipment are all wheelchair accessible for the handicapped. The whole facility is a standard public playground design with distinct equipment features that allow for children of all different ability levels to play and interact together.
The 48-acre park is very commonly known for its large greenways. The park includes a Football Field, Parking, Pavilions, picnic areas, restrooms. Soccer fields, splash pads, track, and many trails.
